I think we could also look to the UK for the devastating effects of privatisation of health care. I think it has gone even farther than the NHS, which used to be admired around the world, but also to the privatisation of public services such as water supply and maybe even sewage treatment and maintenance.
We in Canada have not been immune to the infestation of privatisation of highways maintenance and construction, fire protection, search and rescue, nor auxillary health services such as labs, or care homes. So we have to keep vigilant to save what we want to keep.
Don’t privatize. In the U.S. public schools are underfunded. The lottery was supposed to help fund education/schools. Geographical areas make a difference California vs. Southern schools. The Southern states are underfunded. The outcome from a less enriched education stupidity. For example, no critical thinking or deductive reasoning, and in some cases the ability to read and write.
In recent times politicians have taken advantage of the lack of good educational systems in the Southern states.
Trump’s first term birthed an insurrection led by MAGA terrorists at the behest of Steve Bannon. The most recent Presidential election set the same stage. Steve Bannon in the White House leading his MAGA election denying faction. I believe A lack of a good education makes it easier to coerce people.
Privatization does not work in Canada. I lost subscribers for writing about this and the problems in Alberta. Whether wannabe Americans run Alberta or not, the problems will not go away regardless of what Trump does.
I believe the problem in Alberta is a rogue provincial government that is enacting legislation they did NOT campaign on and pushing it through despite the quiet protest of many of their citizens. It is hard for citizens to believe a government could behave this way, riding roughshod on their constituents. Sound familiar?
But I also believe Canadians generally will not stand for this. Certainly, not the Manitobans and Ontarians that I talk to. We will stand up for publicly funded healthcare and education. Now that we know it's a dogfight.
It seems like Albertans voted for UCP just because they claimed to be right-wingers for the sake of it. Now they are backing a MAGA-backed separatist movement without realizing it just to "pwn them libs". I also received unsubscribes for posting this article.

Look south. You do Not want to end up like the USA, please believe me.
Wannabe americans do
Look, if Albertans continue to support lying charlatans that is their choice.
Choices carry consequences. And people need to be allowed to learn accordingly.
You can't vaccinate for stupidity or ignorance.
Enough Albertans are wannabe Americans. We have a similar problem in Ontario too
