Wow, I just did a search on where the OP pic is from. I used to live just north of there, on Clanranald, when I first moved to Canada. That's my old 'hood. Cool!
I love that you took me there, into all four seasons of Canadian weather with you. Having grown up in New England and enjoyed a good amount of outdoor activities in the Winter, I agree that it is a very necessary part of our lives to get outside.
Good article thank you! Finally someone who recognizes the benefits of nature and seasons that Canadians are lucky to share!! I am tired of people complaining about the weather (although it is apparently a Canadian trait 😉)! I love all seasons but my favourites are autumn and winter. True northern Canadian here!
I moved to Canada after 11 yrs of living in Phoenix AZ. Yes, Phx is like a paradise, especially when you're young and can deal with the summers. But the sameness of everything year round can have an effect. I love being back east, in the Great White North! The GREEN. The AUTUMN. The crisp, WHITE snow. And while I can do without the darkest, minimal days of December and the current, oppressive heat dome we're hiding from this week, having a changing natural world around me is uplifting. I'll never go back except to visit friends and family, and that will only happen in winter.
While I prefer winter, I would dislike living anywhere with only one season. The "Endless Summer" of lowland Southern California bugged me (though not as much as the car-culture).
I personally welcome all 4 seasons that this country has to offer. The excitement and appearance of spring and the renewal of life. The long sun-filled warm days of summer. The beauty of autumn and the cold crisp days of winter. The weather is one of the things that defines us as Canadians. Resilient, accepting of change and tough as hell!! Happy Canada Day everyone. Let us be thankful we live in the best country in the world!!

Nice. I just take stock images to best fit the theme of the piece

Thanks and hope this helps. Some readers got upset I'm not writing enough about Canadian health which is a challenging topic
