I could imagine people seem very triggered right now. I thought your content came across with a grounded bias. look forward to more content in your sub. Thanks man
I totally disagree. Mark Carney left private banking (i.e. Goldman Sacks) to enter Canadian public service the first time which culminated in his being named the Governor of the Bank of Canada, then recently he has left Brookfield Asset Management to again enter public service. I truly believe that he gives a "F**K about Canada" and we are lucky to have him. He is the one we need right now.
He has street cred, experience, is not a career politician (good thing in my opinion) and is likeable. Being likeable is important in dealing with someone south of the border. He has also not been endorsed by Musk, Vance, etc.
At the end of the day, our crisis is the threat of annexation from the U.S.
Make no mistake, they want our resources, and especially our water and this will become more and more of an issue as climate change and global warming worsen.
They want to break us so it will be easier for them to annex us.
Finally, please look up the status of U.S. annexed territories such as Puerto Rico, Guam, etc. Although the citizens who live in these territories (note, they are not "states") are U.S. citizens , they do not have the right to vote in the presidential (i.e. central government) election. Do you really think that 40 million Canadians who as a group (at least 90%) would be considered left of centre or beyond compared to the average U.S. citizen would be given the right to vote?
I for one do not want to be an American annexed territory.
Actually my brain (thank you for the capitalisation but it is not correct) is not cardboard but thank you for asking.
I think when push comes to shove, Mark Carney, being the pragmatist that he is, realises that right here, right now, it is Canada that needs his attention.
The definition of globalist is "a person who advocates the administering or planning of a political strategy, economic system, etc. on a global rather than a national basis". As a highly intelligent person in a pivotal time, I trust Mark Carney to do what is right for Canada right here and right now. I do not trust Pierre Poilievre to do the same. Again, make no mistake, we are at war and we need the best at the helm.
As to WEF - according to Wikipedia
"The World Economic Forum (WEF) is an international advocacy non-governmental organization and think tank, based in Cologny, Canton of Geneva, Switzerland. It was founded on 24 January 1971 by German engineer Klaus Schwab.
The foundation's stated mission is "improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas". Not sure why improving the state of the world is a such a bad thing.
Finally the definition of "the Elites" is (according to Google AI ) "Being a member of the elites" means belonging to a small, powerful group of people within a society who hold a disproportionate amount of wealth, influence, and decision-making power compared to the general population, often due to their high social status, education, or position in key institutions like government or corporations; essentially, they are considered the "top tier" of society with significant control over important matters. "
I would say that this describes all our politicians. As for Mark Carney, he did go to Harvard on a scholarship (shame on him for being so smart) and yes, he was thought of so highly that he was appointed the Governor of the Bank of Canada and the only non-Briton to be the Governor of the Bank of England.
I also ask, considering that we elect people to be our representatives, would you not want someone who has been on the world stage, who has experience and intelligence to lead us during a crisis like this? I know I would.
really enjoyed the content. Clearly agitating alot of conservative trolls appreciate the level headed insights in perspective
It's ironic given I've been accused of being a right winger for being somewhat critical of Justin Trudeau

Yes, I have lost subscribers for being critical of Justin Trudeau and Donald Trump, depending on the topic. Thanks for your support.
If you say so

MAPLE MAGA is trolling my substack. I suppose this means something?
Fear? Not sure. We as Canadians though will politely , yet firmly state our opinion.
I guess we are getting popular

Thanks for your comment. This was fun.
Maple Maga really is something. I thought the Truanon people were a problem.
Yes. It is fun to engage in a respectful "tete a tete". I am responding politely or at least as politely as my cardboard brain can manage.
Cheers and have a lovely evening !
A friendly reminder that this is substack not twitter
Reminding people he worked at Goldman Sachs is enough. Expecting Pierre to start calling him Goldman Sachs Carney when the election starts
Considering he left private banking to enter government service (twice), I think he does give a f.... about Canada.
So you want him to cancel Canada Day like Trudeau?
Yes Harper is a problem.
