Canada’s economy is deeply tied to the U.S. Learn how Canadians can reclaim economic independence through informed, gradual change and why it matters now.
I have mixed feelings about this. I support Canada's right to put their dollars where their values are, and yet, economic punishment will devastate tens of millions of American individuals who do not share the values of the authoritarian government, which is stripping away any safety nets for poverty. There doesn't seem like any clear win here.
Limited alternatives but I buy only Canadian products in Walmart and while doing so point out and talk with other shoppers how good the products are. Many like minded and I appreciate suggestions from others.
I am a motorcyclist and I depend on a couple of small mom-&-pop businesses in the US to keep my old junkers going... Huge shout out to EuroMotoElectrics and Boxer2valve, they are fine, salt of the earth folks. These are the good Americans that I will maintain my great relationships with, we were all friends and allies before. Nothing in my mind has changed.
Wise words. Some of us are already doing our small part; e.g., I have made one small purchase from Amazon since the end of February - a used book that I was unable to obtain anywhere else. Our groceries are made, produced, grown in rooftop greenhouses, or imported from other countries. I love living this way!
Some people have luck buying local or used on Facebook Marketplace or at local weekend markets in the old main streets. Best to buy seasonal produce for better prices and quality too

Why is the Walmart parking lot still full? A mindset that they are cheaper and the beleaguered shopper thinks they are saving is illusional.

I wish Zellers were back, given Canadian Tire is still perceived as a weird mashup of Home Depot and Sears Canada.

Good Folks ... is Good. Wherever. However.
Yes, support good people, especially if they are trying to keep things at a good value and if you're able to get around dealing with US border guards.
